Uniting for a common direction: Multi-stakeholder collaboration for a shared vision and strategic roadmap

Tidal Strategies partnered with the Indigenous Advisory and Monitoring Committee for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (IAMC-TMX) to bring together 129 First Nation and Métis Nation communities in a landmark engagement initiative.

Our aim was to craft a shared vision for the future of Indigenous oversight in the wake of the pipeline’s transition from construction to operations. Through extensive regional engagements, a line-wide gathering, and close collaboration with the Federal Government and the Canada Energy Regulator, we co-developed a community-driven mandate for the IAMC-TMX.

This journey resulted in a unified strategic direction — a roadmap that advocates for Indigenous rights, environmental stewardship, and meaningful oversight — which will guide the IAMC-TMX in the years to come.

The Tidal team enabled our communities to guide us in creating a future-ready strategy that has shared ownership across diverse First Nations, Métis Nation communities, siloed government departments and the Canada Energy Regulator.
